This document was a tool developed by Dr. Kathleen Blais,
Florida International University School of Nursing to map
curriculum against the Hartford Institute and the American
Association of Colleges of Nursing recommended baccalaureate
competencies and curricular guidelines for geriatric nursing.
We have developed a core set of hospital nursing competencies
expected of nurses that care for older adults.
